Draft Survey

The Draft Survey method is widely used in the loading and/or unloading of goods during the import and export of dry bulk cargo by ship.

Based on the principle of buoyancy, the quantity of cargo is determined by calculating the ship’s weight in empty and loaded conditions using stability tables.

Draft Survey is a weighing method recognized by the customs authorities of many countries. It is conducted jointly by the ship’s captain and experienced personnel (surveyors) from inspection companies.

At CIS Karkont, quantity calculation through Draft Survey is carried out professionally in accordance with the internationally standardized procedure “KK-T-7.5-01”, titled “Instruction for Quantity Determination by Draft Survey.”
